Fortuna set for Curragh return next month Donnacha O’Brien’s stable star Porta Fortuna is set to return to action at the Curragh late next month. The daughter of Caravaggio was crowned champion three-year-old filly last season in a campaign that yielded three Group 1 victories. After a narrow defeat in the 1,000 Guineas on her return she proved the best of her generation with wins in the Coronation, Falmouth and Matron Stakes. O’Brien has pinpointed the Lanwades Stud Stakes (also known as the Ridgewood Pearl Stakes) on May 25th as her starting point this season. “She’s done well over the winter and looks great.   “The plan is to go for the Lanwades Stud Stakes, a Group 2 on Irish Guineas weekend.   “She is in great form, so we’ll start there and hopefully on to the Queen Anne.” (Alan Magee)
