Flyer claims Cup at Clonmel Headford Flyer was produced with a well-timed run by Kevin Manning to land the SEPAM Tipperary Perpetual Cup at Clonmel. Scots Gaelic looked to have things in control when kicking leaving the back straight in the two-miler but was collared at the furlong pole by Headford Flyer. Eoghan O'Grady's charge stuck on well in the closing stages as 5/1 favourite Beau Michael finished well to take the second spot, three-parts-of-a-length back. The first two had been well-backed, Headford Flyer (from 9/1 in morning into 11/2), while the favourite had been available at 14/1 before racing. "He's in on Tuesday at Killarney in the novice chase and we'll see how he comes out of this," said O'Grady. "We may go to Galway for the two-mile amateur handicap. He finds a lot under pressure." Shane Gray, who had gotten a fall in the previous race, had a night to forget as he picked up a seven-day whip ban for excessive frequency on the third placed Scots Gaelic. Gary Carson & Alan Magee
