Dandys Gold came with a well-timed surge to land the opening median auction maiden at Limerick this afternoon. Ribbontail Way and Malibu Magic cut out the running in the seven-furlong contest but the pair were chased down by Dandys Gold inside the final furlong.
Dylan Hogan asked his mount for an effort passing the two furlong pole and the Willie Fitzpatrick-trained stayed on well to lead in the closing stages and post a three-parts-of-a-length win.
Malibu Magic grabbed the second, a length in front of Ribbontail Way.
The winner had been placed on four previous occasions including on her seasonal debut over course and distance eight days ago when edged out by half a length.
It was a first winner since August 2014 for Fitzpatrick and the Rathangan handler said:- "We were a little bit apprehensive being her first time on good to firm ground today but she handled it well.
"She'll have a short break now and we'll will look for a handicap next."
