Set To Fire made the breakthrough on her twenty third career start, taking the Gowran Park Handicap under Sean Davis for Johnny Feane.
Previously trained by Johnny Murtagh and Michael Grassick, the four-year-old daughter of Big Bad Bob was sixth, seventh and eleventh on her first three starts for Feane.
Having raced in rear in, the Orlagh Reynolds owned victor was ridden from the two furlong pole and soon made good headway, hitting the front inside the final furlong, before going on to score by a length and three parts.
Recent Tipperary winner Storm Ranger was sent off the 7/2 favourite, and he got to the front over a furlong out. However he couldn't hold off the winner, and had to settle for second under Connor King for Pat Flynn. Multiviz (14/1) completed the placings a further two lengths away in third for Gary Carroll for Sheila Lavery.
Sean Davis said afterwards: "She was very good. The lads were spot on. They said take your time, because they'll go a gallop and she'll come home.
"She picked up well once she got a clear run and I think she likes plenty of room and plenty of daylight. I got a clear run up the middle of them and I wasn't going to be caught then. She won well in the end."
