The Jim Bolger trained Fionnuar ran out a convincing five length winner of the William Fry Handicap under Kevin Manning.
The four-year-old daughter of Teofilo won on her debut at the Curragh in July of last year but failed to follow up in five subsequent efforts.
Running in her sixth handicap this evening, she was sent off at 13/2 and having raced in a clear second for much of the contest she hit the front a furlong and a half from home.
She drew clear in the final furlong, staying on well to score easily from the Ken Condon trained Little Arrows who kept on well to take second under Billy Lee at 10/1.
The front running Prospectorous (6/1) was a further length back in third under Luke Dempsey for his father Philip, while Lonan (2/1 favourite) could only manage a disappointing fifth under Shane Foley for Mick Halford.
Jim Bolger said afterwards: "I think she goes on any ground but she probably wouldn’t want it terrible. It was very bad at Tipperary.
"The race was setup well for her but she ran on well when she hit the front so it probably wouldn’t have mattered. It is always nice to have an escort though!
"We’ll see what the handicapper does now but I will eventually keep her as a broodmare."
