The Eoin Doyle trained Fiesole gained a second Down Royal win in three May starts today when adding the Barclay Telecom Handicap Hurdle to another hurdles win at the northern venue on May 1.
Ridden again by Andrew Ring, the son of Montjeu was again ridden from off the pace before eventually making his way to the front before the final flight and in the end scoring a two and three parts of a length win over Ardview Boy
Afterwards Ring stated “I got there a bit soon on him but he really comes alive at the end of a race and he's hard to take back when you get him going.
“He ran into a well-handicapped horse in Clonmel the last day (Stormey), after winning here and likes this place.
"He deserves a crack at a good handicap. He idled away in front, he should go for a big handicap next. He travels like a good horse."
