Bambino Fever swooped to success in the concluding Coolmore NH Sires Luxembourg Irish EBF Mares INH Flat Race at Leopardstown today to give Willie Mullins a seventh success at the Dublin Racing Festival this weekend. Switch From Diesel hit the front early in the straight in the Grade 2 contest but was followed through by the eventual winner.

Jody Townend sent the Jukebox Jury mare to the front over a furlong from home and she galloped on powerfully in the closing stages.

The 9/1 shot pulled clear late on to record a comprehensive seven-and-a-half length success.

Bambino Fever had won a point-to-point at Stowlin last May before making a winning start for Mullins at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve.

It was a four-timer on the day for Mullins and he said:- “She surprised me the first day and she’s surprised me again today.

“Jody got her lovely and settled in at the back and Jukebox Jury must be some sire.

“I’m absolutely delighted with her, and I’d imagine that looks good enough to me to go to Cheltenham. The other horse was too keen.”

Paddy Power made the winner 6/1 (NRNB) for the Champion Bumper.

Reflections on the weekend, “It was a great weekend and it’s always a worry coming here with the type of horses we bring. Some of them fired and some of them didn’t.

“It’s tremendous for owners and staff. I’m very happy with the weekend.”
