Fallen Angel will bid for a third Group 1 victory on Irish soil when lining up for the Coolmore America ‘Justify’ Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday.

The daughter of Too Darn Hot won the Moyglare Stud Stakes last year and after a below par effort when eighth in the Guineas at Newmarket, returned to form in style again at the Curragh when landing the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas.

The Karl Burke-trained filly has been absent since due to an injury setback but the Yorkshire handler reports her in good form ahead of another Group 1 mile test.

“She’s over her little setback that she had during the summer and is training very well,” said Burke.

“She’s proved in the Irish Guineas that she’s definitely trained on. We were a bit disappointed with the run at Newmarket but I think that was to do with the undulations of the track.

“The Curragh suited her really well and I think Leopardstown will suit her just as well.

“I wouldn’t run her on firm ground particularly after the bone injury that she had. Good ground or good to soft would be perfect for her.”
