FRANKIE HOPEFUL OF BEATING CAUSEWAY

Frankie Dettori is hoping Giant`s Causeway`s tough summer will catch up with him at Leopardstown tomorrow.

The 'iron horse', who won four Group One races in the space of nine weeks, runs in the ESAT Digifone Irish Champion Stakes as a late deputy to the same owners` Montjeu.

Dettori takes on the colt aboard Godolphin`s Best Of The Bests in the Group One race, the 4-1 second-favourite to Aidan O`Brien`s charge in Ladbrokes` betting.

And he thinks his mount`s relatively easy campaign could prove the key to beating his rival.

The jockey told Channel 4 Racing: 'Giant`s Causeway is a great horse, he`s won four Group Ones in a row.

'All his races have been very close together and horses are not machines so we are waiting for him to run a below-par race.

'Best Of The Bests is fresh and we might just give him a little fight tomorrow.'

Giant`s Causeway`s latest success came in the Juddmonte International at York where he battled back after being headed by Kalanisi.

'Giant`s Causeway is going to be very hard to go by and when you go by him he fights back. He`s a very tough horse and we must respect him,' Dettori added.

'I`m confident my horse will run a good race tomorrow and we`ll just keep our fingers crossed.'

Michael Kinane is hopeful Giant`s Causeway can shrug off his hard season.

'He`s a very tough horse and I don`t think about whether he is over the top or not,' the jockey said.

'I`m looking forward to getting on him again and whatever beats him will win.'

Kinane will also renew his partnership with Montjeu in the Prix Foy at Longchamp on Sunday.

'John (Hammond) wanted to keep him in France and he knows the horse better than anyone else.

'Again I`m looking forward to riding him.'
