FLORIDA FAVOURITE FOR DOWN ROYAL

Florida Pearl heads the market for the 140,000 euro James Nicholson Wine Merchant Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday, writes Alan Magee.

The Willie Mullins-trained gelding, who enjoyed a fruitful campaign last season including victory in the King George VI Chase at Kempton, is 5/4 favourite with Cashmans.

`We eased out Florida Pearl from an initial quote of 11/10 following fairly solid support for Foxchapel King,` said the Cork-firm`s spokesman Joe Burke.

Foxchapel King, winner of the three miles event last year, is 11/4 (from 3`s) together with former Gold Cup winner See More Business.

There are eight entries in total, with Give Over, The Bunny Boiler, More Than A Stroll, Cregg House and Rockholm Boy completing the line-up.
