Exit To The West followed up a point-to-point win in February with a second consecutive win today as the Robert Tyner trained mare landed the Racing Behind Closed Doors Handicap Hurdle at Listowel under jockey Philip Enright.
The daughter of Westerner made her debut when pulling up in a point-to-point won by Honeysuckle at Dromahane in April and having subsequently failed to place in six hurdles, returned from a 344 days absence to win at Nenagh last February.
Today Exit To The West defied a 223 days absence when beating Live Every Day by three and a quarter lengths.
Afterwards jockey Enright, riding his 15th winner of the season, stated “she hasn't run since she won her point-to-point in Nenagh and today's race cut up with all the non-runners.
“She jumped and she travelled well and the big thing is she had form on soft ground and handled it better than the summer horses so it is great to get her over the line.
“She is only a handy filly so hopefully she'll go for something similar again the next day.”
