Egality Mans landed odds of 8/15 in the BetVictor Supporting Irish Racing Beginners Chase to complete a double on the afternoon for Willie Mullins at Wexford.
The Network gelding, lightly-raced since winning a point-to-point for Pat Doyle as a four-year-old, was adding to a Naas maiden hurdle win last year and had to overcome an early jumping scare.
Danny Mullins’ mount made a serious mistake at the fourth but gradually warmed to the task and took control before the last to beat Itsnotinit by 12 lengths. Sean Hogan was prominent throughout and finished a further length and three quarters back in third.
Willie Mullins said, “He made a bad mistake at the last the first time around. He stood off at the shadow and I thought that was him finished.
“He recovered nicely and Danny got a breather into him and got him jumping better. He got his confidence back on the final circuit and hopefully he can progress.
“He’s one for staying chases and maybe could be an Irish National horse down the line.”
Mullins earlier saddled Arctic Warrior to win over hurdles in the hands of Jody McGarvey.
