Elliott moves up a gear with Down Royal treble Trainer Gordon Elliott completed a treble at Down Royal today as his Death Duty easily justified 1/2 favouritism to complete the feat in the concluding Daily Mirror (Pro/Am) Bumper. Ridden by Nina Carberry, the son of Shantou went clear of his 11 rivals from two furlongs out to eventually score a 16 lengths win. Elliott, who was also supplying owner Gigginstown House Stud with a second winner of the afternoon having sent out Don Cossack to earlier Grade 1 glory today, later stated "he's a big weak horse and is a staying chaser in the making. We won't rush him this year." Elliott had also supplied principal supporter Gigginstown House Stud with a double at the venue yesterday and the Grand National winning trainer can reflect on a successful month's work, with 21 winners in the period, two of which were in Britain.
