Happy D'ex made it two winners for Gordon Elliott in Fairyhouse when keeping on best in the mares' point-to-point bumper.
The 2/5 favourite was pushed along by Jamie Codd to lead a furlong and a half out. Alpine Annie (100/1) made a race of it in the final furlong as she stayed on but the winner ground it out by a diminishing half length. There was a nine and a half length gap back to third-placed Bonne Debut (6/1).
“Jamie was happy. She's going to improve an awful lot as she had a real good blow,” said Elliott.
“She won a three runner point-to-point and Jamie said she'll learn plenty from that.
“The softer ground the better she'll be. She could go for that Listed bumper in Navan and if not we'll go jumping hurdles.
“She's a nice mare but a mare for the future really.”
Elliot also took the opener with Motown Maggie ridden by Davy Russell.
