The heavens opened during the running of the SP Or Better Guaranteed With Tote Handicap Hurdle but well supported favourite Shecouldbeanything (2/1, from 4/1 overnight) made light of the weather conditions to win the feature race decisively.
Having tracked the leaders, she hit the front under Jack Kennedy after the second-last and went away to beat Mighty Tom who stayed on from the rear of the field, by six lengths.
It was a fourth win, and a third at Listed level, from seven starts over hurdles for the daughter of Malinas who gave Gordon Elliott a quick across-the-cards double after Nottodaybobo took Kilbeggan's opener.
"Jack said she travelled well and got there too soon," said Elliott.
"He gave her a kick and she quickened at the back of the second-last.
"She is not a bad mare and was unlucky at Galway when she made mistakes at the second-last and last and would have been bang there only for that.
"She will go to Gowran for a Listed race next and could also win on the Flat - she is a good filly."
Regarding Jordan Gainford's returning-from-injury Kilbeggan winner, he added "it is great for him as he is a big part of the team and has been back riding out for the past couple of weeks.
"Obviously Jack (Kennedy) is my first jockey but himself and Sam Ewing will share the rest of the rides.
"Hopefully the lads' injuries are behind them and hopefully they can get a bit of luck."
