Trainer Gordon Elliott and owner Gigginstown House Stud combined for a four-timer at Navan today as Invincible Cave landed the concluding Kevin Bell Trust (Pro-Am) Bumper, under jockey Lisa O’Neill.
Invincible Cave had previously won his point to point for Donnacha Doyle at Bartlemy in May before selling to Gigginstown for 210,000GBP and today showed his staying ability under O’Neill, who recently returned from the Breeders Cup at Del Mar having cared for Elliott’s Juvenile Turf-fifth placed Beckford.
Invincible Cave, a son of Court Cave, eventually got the better of Gigginstown’s other runner Valdieu for a three and three parts of a length win to add to the earlier wins for Elliott and Gigginstown with Graded winners Mengli Khan Apple’s Jade and Clarcam
Following the bumper, trainer Elliott stated “he's a nice horse who doesn't show us much at home but he's a big honest galloping horse.
“He won't do much more this year and I don't know if I'll even run him in another bumper - maybe I will, but he won't do much more.
“He's a big stayer and Lisa said he didn't really know what to do and when he got there he was green, but he's a nice horse.”
