James Carroll is the early pace-setter at the head of the Amateur Riders’ Championship when partnering his eighth winner of the campaign on the Noel Henley trained Ebony Diamond in the Glantane Bumper at Cork today.
Carroll moved the son of Marignan to the front three furlongs out, stretching clear for an easy ten lengths win over Masterofthebree
Afterwards winning trainer Noel Henley, from Tallow, stated “Ebony Diamond will go for a winners’ bumper next, provided he isn’t sold. Today’s better ground suited him well.”
