Easy-to-back but no bother for While You Wait He was pretty to easy to back but While You Wait overcame any apparent lack of confidence in his chance by running out a fairly convincing winner of the concluding Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Down Royal. It didn't look likely for Ronan Whelan's mount when he was bustled along from over three furlongs out. However he got a second wind to challenge from over a furlong out, eventually getting there inside the last before going on to beat Buckingham Gate by two lengths. The first-time blinkered favourite, Quick Glimpse made the running but she faded inside the final furlong to finish third. Whelan said of the Jim Bolger-trained victor: "He looked like he hit a flat spot and he'll be even better stepping up in trip. "He'll make a good handicapper and the further he goes the better. We think a bit of him." (MG & EM)
