Eaglemont knifed through the field to win the Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Handicap under Mikey Sheehy.
The 7/1 chance (from 10s) rattled home to pick his rivals off in the final 150 yards. The Camelot colt was kept up to his work by Mikey Sheehy to land the spoils on handicap debut.
He beat Golden Valour (11/2) by three parts of a length. Brinjal the 10/3 favourite, came in another length and a half away.
Assistant trainer Brendan Powell said: "He got his head in front at last. He always promised to do that and was a good second at Leopardstown.
“He faded last time after being ridden handy. Today Mikey has dropped him right out, he's switched off lovely. He said if anything he was behind the bridle but he finished the race today and stuck at it well.
“He's a massive, big horse so maybe he's just coming to himself. He's got a future. He coped with that surface very well.
“A couple of bits of his early form was very good and then we just had a little blip, whether it was ground or whatever.
“I just thought Mikey gave him a beautiful ride.”
