Dundalk double for Halford and Hoban "He's an improving horse and he has a great attitude," said Michael Halford after Roman Impero supplied himself and Conor Hoban with a Dundalk double in the 32Red Casino Race. Earlier on the mark with Russian Soul, Halford and Hoban supplied second favourite at 7/4, Roman Impero, in the four-runner seven furlong race for three-year-olds. Turbine was equivalent odds-on for Mark Johnston and Joe Fanning but Roman Impero got the best of the argument a hundred and fifty yards out for a length and a quarter win. "There should be more to come as he's still a small bit green. He's a lazy sort at home and I'd say there is always more there," added Halford. "Time will tell how good he is but it was a good performance tonight. Conor likes him and thinks there is more to come. He'll step up to a mile no problem. "If we're happy with him we'll certainly consider the race on Good Friday for him. "The owner is from Singapore. He's a great sports man and is excited to have a good horse like him." (GC & EM)
