The Kieran Cotter-trained Lord Dudley grabbed the lion's share of the big pot in the €80,000 Mallow Handicap at Cork this evening.
25 lined up for the seven-furlong contest and they fanned wide across the straight track.
Rising star Jake Coen was to the fore throughout on Lord Dudley and asked the 12/1 shot for an effort passing the two pole.
The Pride Of Dubai gelding found plenty in the closing stages as he edged the verdict by from Blairmayne in a tight finish.
Lord Dudley was following up a win at Naas in late March and was recording his fourth career success.
Cotter said:- "What can you say about the horse - he has been a fantastic servant. He has come from a low grade 45-65 handicapper, wondering could we win a race, to being here today winning this savage pot.
"Kildare Racing Club have had a fantastic run with us and Johnny Murtagh over the last year and this horse doesn't know when he is beaten.
"We came down here looking for prize-money and realistically didn't think we'd take it but we're on a roll at the moment. There are a few options open to him but that's nearly job done for the year really!"
