Drumgill (11/2) followed up a maiden victory at Ballinrobe when making all under Danny Gilligan in the Kilcawley Construction Rated Novice Hurdle.

Pushed clear entering the straight, he was ridden with a reduced advantage after the last but held on to beat Spy by half a length.

"He got a bit of confidence after winning the last day and just got away with the ground, he probably wouldn't want it any softer than that.

"He was probably getting a bit lonesome in front. It helped that I didn't get bumped around, I got things easy so I was able to ride the race how I liked."

Owner-trainer John Ryan said: "It's a family operation and everyone contributes. It's not easy to produce winners of these kind of races on a regular basis, it takes a lot of doing and you have to work hard. We have good facilities, a variety of gallops, and can do everything at home.

"This is a nice horse from the family of Constitution Hill and Menorah. He's been slow enough to get going but he's a raw five-year-old with a lot of talent and I'd be hoping that he'll make up into a nice horse over fences."
