Liz Doyle certainly knows what is required to win a Ballinrobe bumper and unleashed newcomer Bois De Clamart to get off the mark this evening.
The 12/1 chance moved to the head of affairs over a quarter of a mile out and was clear entering the home straight.
The French-bred gelding was ridden in the final furlong to go and win his race and duly came in an impressive 10 lengths to the good. Jackson Hill (3/1) took second ahead of Young Dev at 20/1. The latter was the subject of support from 50/1 during the day.
Liz Doyle said: "He's (jockey Sean O'Keefe) going to be very, very good. He's flying at the points.
"I bought him as a foal and he won his two schooling races — a hurdle and a bumper.
"I really fancied him today. I knew he'd love the ground and we like him an awful lot.
"It's a long way from Ballinrobe to Wexford so I don't come unless we have a fair old chance and he's done it really well.
"It was a beautiful ride and he's a very good kid.
"I own him half shares with an English owner of mine so it's all good."
Doyle now has a record of three winners from four runners in bumpers at Ballinrobe in the past five years.
This was O'Keefe's second track victory.
