Doyle and Enright forging a profitable alliance After combining for a 20/1 success with Stylish Moment at Downpatrick last Friday Eoin Doyle and Phillip Enright were at it again at Tramore this afternoon. This time their winner, Macho Mover, came in at the more modest odds of 4/1. With first-time blinkers on Macho Mover took the WIT Students Day Handicap Hurdle by two and a quarter lengths from Deauville Society. Macho Mover won two on the Flat for Mick Channon in England in August 2018. He was sold for 24,000 pounds last October. Here the principals drew on by fourteen lengths from the third home Shedding. “I’d a lean year and the horses weren’t right. I didn’t have enough summer horses like other years," acknowledged Doyle. He added: “We had a winner the other day in Downpatrick so hopefully it’s onwards and upwards now for a while. “He’s a tricky sort this lad. He’d no confidence in his jumping and Phillip said he’d want soft ground after Downpatrick the last day. He travels better with that ease in the ground. “We put the blinkers on today to concentrate a bit better and in fairness he stuck at it well. He’ll go for another handicap in about a fortnights time.” The Stewards enquired from A. McCurtin, rider of Miss Tulpar, who fell on the flat in this race. The rider reported that his charge stumbled independently for no apparent reason causing her to fall. Having considered the report and viewed a recording of the race, the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. William Fleming, regarding the failure of C.P. McNamara, rider of Athloman Cottage, placed sixth, to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from Mr. Fleming and from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Athloman Cottage from sixth place under the provisions of Rule 230. Furthermore, the Stewards were satisfied that C.P. McNamara was in breach of Rule 227 and having taken his previous record in this regard into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. (AM & EM)
