Takapour gave jockey Shane Foley a double for the day when taking the one mile two-and-a-half furlong maiden at Dundalk by half a length from the staying on Charpoy
Foley commented: “He won well, likes it here and goes well on the surface.
“He may well come back here for a winners of one.”
The Aga Khan owned and Mick Halford trained three-year-old was always prominent and kicked on over a furlong out to reward favourite backers at 11/10 while Charpoy was backed in from 5/1 to 7/2. Aragorn Rouge was a further half a length back in third at 5/2.
