Stable staff are the backbone of the racing industry and Naas and Downpatrick racecourses have both recently announced sponsorship agreements to benefit this important group.

Naas host their first Flat meeting of the year tomorrow and TRM Equine Nutrition will again sponsor the Best-Turned-Out League, won for the past two years by Michael O’Callaghan’s yard, at the County Kildare track.

The winning yard will receive a €1,000 TRI Equestrian Store voucher, along with a celebratory breakfast delivered to the yard.

TRM Equine Nutrition, Europe’s largest manufacturer and distributor of nutritional feed supplements and healthcare products for horses, will also sponsor six races throughout the upcoming Flat season beginning this Sunday.

In addition to supporting stable staff, TRM is introducing two new awards for 2025 - the TRM Training Performance of the Year and Ride of the Year. Each comes with a prize of €1,000 worth of TRM products and will be decided by public vote, allowing racing fans to celebrate the standout performances of the Flat season at Naas.

TRM’s Enda Kelly commented: “We are proud to continue our partnership with Naas racecourse in 2025 and supporting everyone in the racing community - trainers, grooms, jockeys and owners - has always been at the heart of what we do. These new awards are an exciting addition, and we’re looking forward to seeing who the public chooses to recognise for their outstanding performances.”

TRM will also continue its support for apprentice jockeys by sponsoring a race on the final meeting of the Flat season at Naas on Sunday, October 12th - the TRM — From Ireland to The World Apprentice Handicap. The winning apprentice rider, provided they are not already under sponsorship, will receive an exclusive one-year sponsorship deal with TRM. This includes fully branded riding gear and apparel, offering a valuable boost to the rider’s professional career.

Downpatrick also have good news for stable staff with CosyGroup sponsoring the stableyard canteen for the 2025 season. The northern venue provides food and refreshments free of charge throughout the day at race meetings and this backing will ensure grooms continue to be well catered for.

Cosy Group Holdings Ltd is the parent of multiple brands within the construction sector across the UK and Ireland including Cosy Roof, Cosy Insulation, Cosy Solar, Cosy Developments, KAP Properties and JW McCalls.

Downpatrick General Manager Ruth Morrison said, “We are absolutely thrilled to have CosyGroup on board as the sponsor of our stableyard canteen for the entire 2025 season and it is a wonderful demonstration of their commitment to the hardworking stable staff. The CosyGroup have been great supporters of Downpatrick Racecourse, and it is a privilege to build on that partnership.”

The sponsorship will commence at Downpatrick’s first meeting of the year, the Randox Ulster National on Sunday, March 30th.
