Keith Donoghue doubled up in Downpatrick aboard Ballysax Hank in the Caherty Stables Beginners Steeplechase.

The 11/2 chance travelled well towards the rear and made his move after the penultimate fence. Donoghue sent him on over the last and kept him up to his work to score by a length and a-quarter. Heroes Rise the 2/1 favourite, took the runner-up spot.

Gavin Cromwell said: "Good to get that after hitting the crossbar in the National.

"He jumped well and liked that nicer ground.

"We might find a handicap somewhere."

Donoghue also won on Seskin Flash for Philip Dempsey.
