"A little surprise. She's a nice filly. She's very small but she's nice and honest," was trainer Tim Doyle's assessment after Dinky Inty owned by his wife Claire, landed the Panoramic Restaurant Naas Claiming Race under Gary Halpin.
Outsider of the field strong field she may have been, at 12/1, but that mattered little in the final analysis as the 55-rated daughter of Intikhab fought off Bouquet Garni by a short head.
The principals came close together more than once in the final furlong but there was no surprise when the no alteration signal came through after a steward's enquiry.
Odds-on favourite Magnification never looked to be going particularly well and he ended up finishing second last.
"She has a good pedigree and she might win a nursery somewhere along the line. I'd say that wasn't the strongest of races," added Doyle.
"She'll keep on the go and might be a Dundalk filly, even though she likes a little cut. She's a half-sister to Danz Gift, who loves Dundalk, so we'll give it a try before the year is out.
"I bought her as a foal for €3,000 so she's made her money back now."
The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Dinky Inty, ridden by Gary Paul Halpin, placed first and Bouquet Garni, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed second.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of E.J.O'Grady, trainer, who accompanied Killian Leonard at the enquiry.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
