Deserved win for Fintara as she beats the boys Fintara, the only mare in the line-up, got a deserved win to her name in the Building The Future Beginners Chase, scoring under Robbie Power for Jessica Harrington. Second on her first two starts over the larger obstacles, the daughter of Kayf Tara opened on-course at 7/2 before going off a 3/1 chance for owners Sally Rowley-Williams and John Linehan. Settled in second, she improved into a share of the lead from five out, and led before the next. She was pressed by Sir Bob from two out, but kept on best under pressure from the last, going on to score by two and three parts of a length. Sir Bob (13/2 to 5s) filled the runner-up berth under Mark Walsh for Robert Tyner, while Dylrow (25s to 20s) was six lengths back in third for Danny Hand and Robbie Hennessy. Veneziano Springs was sent off the 9/4 favourite, and he faded from before two out, eventually finishing fourth. Robbie Power said afterwards: "She deserved to win one, she has been running well and was second on her two starts over fences. "She is definitely a better mare over fences than she is over hurdles. She just took her time to warm into it today, she was a bit careful early on, the further the race went on the better she travelled. "She's won over fences now so it's great."
