A field of just three for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase quickly became two when odds-on favourite Little Mixup departed at the first and Well Del (9/4) had little difficulty accounting for his only remaining rival The King Of Cong

Placed in both point-to-points last year and fourth on Rules debut in a Listowel maiden hurdle, Donagh Meyler's mount went on with a circuit to race and, with The King Of Cong jumping badly to his left, it was 'bar a fall' from a long way out as he cruised home to score by 30 lengths.

It was a third winner of the campaign for trainer Liam O'Brien who quipped: "We were confident coming down! In fairness you can only beat what is there and he is a soft ground horse, rather than a good ground one and he also wants further.

"It is what is it but he is a really nice horse who wants three miles. We won't get carried away but it is lovely for his owner/breeder Jim Delaney from Wexford.

"That's my first runner from a new yard in Bennettsbridge, which I'm renting from George and Stuart Williams so that is a great result."
