Dead-heat in Downpatrick handicap chase Northern racegoers were treated to a thrilling finish as Some Dove and C’est Quelqu’un could not be separated by the judge in the Downpatrick Living High Street Handicap Chase. C’est Quelqu’un was sent off the 11/10 favourite having overcome a bad mistake at the last to land a similar event at Tramore last month and the last fence again proved pivotal here. The Gordon Elliott-trained favourite held a slight advantage when hesitating at the last and pecked on landing. Jack Kennedy soon got him going again but Henry de Bromhead’s Some Dove threw down a strong challenge on the final climb to the line and Rachael Blackmore forced her up to dead-heat on the line. Hascoeur Clermont also kept on strongly in the closing stages to finish just a length and a quarter back in third. Elliott said, "When they are that close, a dead heat is a very fair result. "Jack said he doesn't do a stroke when he gets there - if you watch him, he pricked his ears. He has won again, so it is great." Quotes by Michael Graham
