Pecheurs De Perles stuck on well in the closing stages to get off the mark in the median auction maiden at Tipperary.
The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding was produced to lead two furlongs from home by Wayne Lordan in the seven-furlong contest.
The easy to back 6/1 shot (4/1 this morning) galloped on strongly in the closing stages to score from Kendawar.
5/4 favourite Tommy Hallinan came to challenge two furlongs out but couldn't find more in the closing stages, finishing third.
The winner had been runner-up in a Cork maiden nine days ago.
"Wayne thought the slightly better ground helped him today - he thought he got stuck a bit in Cork but I'm delighted with him,” said de Bromhead.
"He should get a mile, if not a bit further. He's a grand big scopey horse and we'll see what we'll do next.
"I'm new to this (flat racing) and we have three three year olds and a few two year olds. We'll give it a go and it's interesting."
