Sean Davis registered a first win for leading owner J.P. McManus at Limerick today, as the eighteen year old jockey steered the Christy Roche trainer Bay Hill to win the 4 Of Us Play Live June 23rd Handicap.
The grey son of Verglas improved to lead a furlong out and stayed on well to hold the wayward late finish of runner-up San Remo
Roche wasn’t present and afterwards Davis, from Maynooth and based with trainer Michael O’Callaghan, stated “that’s my eighth winner and my first for Mr McManus.
“He (Bay Hill) jumped and travelled well and quickened up. We thought the quicker ground here mightn’t suit but he handled it well.”
