Dank impresses on her Irish raid Sir Michael Stoute’s Dank made a successful trip across the Irish Sea when readily winning the featured Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh. Once Ryan Moore hit the button a furlong and a half out on the 5/4 favourite in this mile and one contest the result was never in doubt as she forged on to beat the staying on Say (8/1) by a length and three parts. Moore had travelled in third and had to wait for a gap beyond the furlong pole in this eight-runner race. Sir Michael Stoute’s partner Coral Pritchard-Gordon said: “I spoke to Michael on the phone and he’s absolutely delighted. Ryan was thrilled with her and felt she was a better filly today. “She’s still improving and loves the ground. All went right for her today once she got a gap. She has a great temperament and if she continues to improve I would presume she would try to win a Group 1.” Dank won a Newmarket Group 3 on her seasonal reappearance before running third to Duntle in the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot.
