Daisy’s Hollow got off the mark at the 12th time of asking in the three mile handicap hurdle for horses rated 80-95 in Tipperary.
The six-year-old Beat Hollow mare made headway at the third last and went on with Swiss Brid approaching the home bend.
Second reserve Swiss Brid was making the most of her opportunity as she took a narrow advantage two out.
Tommy Brett soon got after Daisy’s Hollow in second and the pair challenged at the final flight.
Daisy’s Hollow forged on in the final 100 yards to prevail by a length and a quarter at 17/2 having been available at over 20/1 in the morning. There were several non runners which also contributed to the reduced price.
Runner-up Swiss Brid was an 11/1 chance and she was a length and three parts clear of third-placed The Reaping Race (4/1) who did his best work in the latter stages.
Trainer Shane Duffy said: She was in season in Ballinrobe and the last day she got struck in to behind so we can't knock her for those runs.
“Her form before that she was second and fifth here which was a good run. We were actually confident coming into today.
“She's not a bad mare and it's great that she's pulled it off.
“She's tough and her biggest attribute is that she's honest. She's as game as the day is long and it does help in these races.”
