That offer didn't last long however, as he opened on-course at evens, before going off the clear favourite at 9/10 under Declan McDonogh. Settled in a close second, he was ridden to the front at the furlong pole, and kept on well from there to beat First Response (7/2) by a length. Colin Keane was aboard the runner-up for Ger Lyons, while Prepare For Battle (7/1) was another length and three parts back in third. "It was workmanlike performance. He battled well and got a good ride from Declan," said Weld. "He ran a good race in Galway and the experience he gained there definitely helped him today.
