Jockey John Cullen was 'sharing the love' at Downpatrick today, steering a first winner for trainer Donal O'Brien, with Good Time In Milan in the dramatic Cool Kidz Admission Maiden Hurdle, just three days after registering his own first winner as a trainer.
Front-running Patsy Dan did nobody a favour in-running, jumping violently left at his hurdles and was the indirect cause of Treguier slipping up and Done En Dusted being brought down on the bend after jumping the second flight. Favourite Westhaven (9/10) was badly hampered in the incident but failed to figure later in the race.
Cullen, who partnered Gray Hession to his first win as a trainer at Cartmel on Saturday, moved the Good Time In Milan to lead before two out before staying on well to hold the challenge of Pestal And Mortar on the run-in.
After the win, trainer Donal O'Brien, based in Blackwater, Co Wexford, stated “I have half a dozen point to pointers and two or three for the track, have my license three or four years but that is my first track winner.
“She was disheartened after her run in Limerick but we found her in season afterwards. She won a point to point last year and we knew she had ability and stays well. We were hopeful today but were fearful of Westhaven. She'll probably go for a mares' handicap hurdle next.”
