Dylan Browne McMonagle is fairly flying through his claim and rode his 26th winner of the campaign aboard 9/2 co-favourite Crystal Pool in the Kenmare Handicap (Div I).
Now down to a 3lb allowance, the talented Donegal youngster tracked the leaders on his mount before asking for more racing to the final furlong.
The Society Rock mare responded to her rider’s urgings and stayed on well to account for another of the 9/2 co-favourites, Is Fantastic by half a length.
It was a second win of the year for the late-developing 6-year-old who got off the mark at Gowran in May.
Winning trainer Pat Martin has enjoyed plenty of success at this venue over the years and said: “I was going bring her home last night after the ground dried out and after (stablemate) Wee Pablo didn't perform but my son Jack persuaded me to stay and see what it was like this morning.
“They got a little bit of rain, they did a watering job and the ground was nice this morning. We were worried whether she'd be quick enough on it but it was her guts and a very determined ride from Dylan which got her home.
“In the past she was a bit of a softie but has grown up a bit this year. If we go back to Dundalk in the winter it will be over ten (furlongs) and a bit
“It was in Tom Brennan's own colours which means a lot to us.”
