Crosse brothers take the last 2 at Navan His brother Shane won the feature half-an-hour earlier on Galileo Chrome and Nathan Crosse was the man to follow in the finale at Navan, the Flower Hill Handicap, as he triumphed aboard El Tren. Riding the nine-year-old for Aidan Howard, Crosse tracked the leaders on the 9/2 shot, and he was third halfway. Making headway over two furlongs out, El Tren was ridden to dispute the lead over a furlong out and he edged left. Leading in the final hundred yards the Howard runner kept on well to beat the strong finishers, Dashing Diamond and A Place Apart, by half a length and a neck. “He did it nicely. Nathan gave him a great ride, I told him to follow the leaders and he gave him a lovely ride,” said Howard. “He stays the trip well and handles that ground. He's a very honest little horse and a great horse to have. “The owners (the McNallys) are very good and have a lot of patience.” (GC & EM)
