Crooked Throw wins Killarney Claimer Tough miler and last year's Irish Lincoln winner Crooked Throw proved the comfortable winner of the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Claiming Race at Killarney today and was subsequently claimed for E10,550. Ridden by Paul Townend, the son of Anshan chased the leaders, before moving through to lead inside the final furlong, scoring a length win over Steig. Swan was not present for what was Crooked Throw's sixth career win and James Colgan, from Naul, Co Dublin, subsequently successfully claimed the ten year old gelding.
