Gavin Cromwell has his dual purpose string in top form at present and made it ten winners under both codes in the past fortnight when Je T’ai Porte justified good support in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap at Dundalk.
The four-year-old mare, who won a maiden here 12 months ago, was claimed out of Michael Halford’s yard in August and advertised her chance with two placed efforts since joining Cromwell.
The well-backed 9/4 favourite, available at 9/2 this morning, made all under Dylan Browne McMonagle and kept on strongly inside the final furlong to beat score by two and a quarter lengths. Mads Black Eights took the runner-up spot with Ghumama a length further adrift in third.
Cromwell said, "She relaxed and I suppose getting to make the running she switched off.
"She went through the line well and maybe something similar again, it depends what the handicapper does."
