Path D'oroux, far side, beats Itswhatunitesus in Ballybrit© Photo Healy Racing
Better jumps at the final two flights saw Path D'oroux win his maiden hurdle on debut from Itswhatunitesus at Galway.
He tanked upsides Itswhatunitesus on the run to the second-last and moved on along the run-in.
He was well in charge for Keith Donoghue in the closing stages as he went on by four and a half lengths from his fellow 15/8 favourite. A Million Bucks couldn't get on terms with the front two, but came in a clear third at 10/1.
Trainer Gavin Cromwell said: “He'll come on plenty from this and he's a nice one to look forward to for the winter.
“He's so switched off and he'll probably sharpen up a bit from that. Mentally, he's so laid-back, which is great.
“I'm not sure where we'll go, but I suppose maybe Fairyhouse for the Royal Bond. He has a good turn of foot and he has gears.
“We won't be too excited about today but we do like him.”
Path D'oroux has a point-to-point in the book along with a Punchestown bumper success when last seen in April.
