Crawford introduces nice prospect Larne-based trainer Stuart Crawford unveiled a useful newcomer when Mister Nibbles romped home by six and a half lengths in the bumper at Down Royal. Again it was a case of a reserve getting into the race due to non-runners but this nicely-bred son of Kalanisi stayed on stoutly to put the race to bed. “I was hoping he would run well. There were plenty of forward horses in the race. I wasn’t sure about the ground as he’s a good moving horse and I thought he would handle better ground but he got through that well,” Stuart Crawford said. “He’ll go for a break and might come back here for November. His owner Gordon Roberts is from Hillsborough, Co Down and has just that horse.” Mister Nibbles won at 9/2. Wild Friday at 20/1 grabbed second for Jimmy Lambe and it was a further nine lengths to Pollwollydoodle in third at 14/1. Crackin Man was sent off 4/5 favourite for Michael O’Hare and Declan Lavery but this Wetherby bumper winner could find no extra in the final furlong and finished fifth. Michael Graham
