Hold up tactics were seen to good effect again at Limerick this afternoon as Cratloe ran out another last to first winner in the Patrickswell Handicap Hurdle.
Michael McDonagh's charge was making his third start in handicap company this afternoon and went to post an 11/2 shot.
The French-bred came from the rear to lead on the outside at the second last flight in the two-mile contest.
Barry Browne had a willing partner in the closing stages as the Creachadoir gelding kept on well to record a length-and-a-half win over 3/1 favourite Rich Belief
The winning rider said:- "He was a bit keen down over the first few and I took him back to get him settled.
"He will make a fine chaser and being big, would want it much quicker than that."
It was a big day for the McDonagh family as the winning trainer Michael is father of Mark McDonagh, owner of the previous winner Jody Ted and grand-father of rider Mark.
