Toomevara County Tipperary trainer Ray Hackett completed a Limerick double today when Crackerdancer (5/4) put favourite Hardline to the sword in the concluding Racing Again Tomorrow At Limerick Racecourse (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
Tom Brett partnered the Robin Des Champs mare on her second start for the yard, and she built on an excellent Gowran second placing from February 18th.
She'd been reappearing on that occasion from 791 day break, and here she brushed aside any 'bounce' concerns by making all. She went on a furlong out and then kept up the gallop to account for odds-on shot Hardline (9/10) by ten lengths.
Hackett, earlier on the mark with Tidy Zag (J J Slevin up) in the 3.20, said: "She is a good tough mare and just gallops all day long.
"She is hard enough to train and huge credit must go to Jim Bergin (physio) who keeps her sound and only for him we wouldn't be able to do what we're doing. If anyone deserves the credit for today, it is Jim.
"She loves that ground and just gallops and gallops but the bounce factor would be in the back of your mind having been off the track for 800 days before her run at Gowran.
"We might go for another bumper next with her and that's my first double."
