Course specialist Gretzky caused a 20/1 upset in gaining a fifth career win at Dundalk this evening, claiming a short head win in the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Handicap, under jockey Connor King.
Formerly trained in France by Andre Fabre and formerly owned by Sheikh Mohammed, the son of King's Best was today winning from a career high rating of 97 and afterwards winning trainer Matthew Smith stated “as soon as he got off the box he knew he was here - he loves the place!
“It was a fair run to win off 87 and he got into a bit of trouble and did well to come through and win. Shalaman (stablemate) has also run a cracker to finish third."
