A delighted Clare Cannon after the success of Coreczka© Photo Healy Racing
Coreczka completed a hat-trick of wins at Dundalk as she got up close home to beat Eagle Valley in the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Handicap.
Successful on her last two starts on March 18th and April 1st, the five-year-old daughter of Intense Focus was sent off a 2/1 chance this evening under Oisin Orr for Clare Cannon.
Settled in fifth she was pushed along over two furlongs out and went second with over a furlong to race.
It appeared she was going to be held inside the final furlong, but a late camera switch showed things in a different light as she got up close home to prevail by a short head.
The well-backed Eagle Valley (9/4 to 13/8 and favourite at the off) had to settle for second after he attempted to make all under Pat Smullen for Tracy Collins.
The front two went a length and three parts clear of Our Manekineko in third. He was returned at 9/4 (was as short as 6/4 this morning) under Donnacha O'Brien for James Nash.
Clare Cannon said afterwards: "That's not going to happen to me again in a while!
"When you have my size of a yard it's the biggest thing ever and it'll be a long time before it ever happens again!
"She's a fantastic wee mare. She'll go to the field now. It's thanks to HRI for putting this meeting on as if it wasn't for that she wouldn't have run again."
