Jockey Davy Condon deserves plenty of credit for his winning ride on 7/4 favourite Priors Gold in the opening Tullamore Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan this evening.
The son of Sakhee travelled well to chase the leaders before attempting to run out at both the second last flight, and when in front, badly at the final flight. Condon quickly persuaded Priors Gold to get his act together, recording a comfortable win over Peccatorum
Afterwards winning trainer Gordon Elliott stated “Priors Gold has plenty of ability but is a little bit of a brat.”
“We’ll take him to a more galloping track next time and will mix it between Flat and jumps.”
