Come To The Party recorded his eighth career success, as he ran out a convincing winner of the Garryowen Veterans Handicap Chase, scoring under Mikey Butler for Eoin Doyle.
Having opened at 7/1 on-course, the ten-year-old son of Taipan went off a 6/1 chance, and he lead throughout, until he was headed by the 6/4 favourite Caim Hill after the fourth last fence.
The winner remained a close second as they entered the straight, and he soon regained the lead as Caim Hill came under pressure.
He went a few lengths clear before the second last, and he was driven out on the run-in, keeping on well to score comfortably by nine lengths.
Caim Hill, for Philip Fenton and Brian O’Connell, had to settle for second, while For A Finish (5/1) was a further four and three parts of a length back in third, with Kevin Sexton aboard, also for Eoin Doyle. Jolily was backed from 14/1 to 17/2 on-course, but he could only manage fourth under Martin Burke for Tim Doyle.
Just eight of the original eleven lined-up for the valuable handicap, with Themoonandsixpence a late withdrawl due to the going, while On The Way Out and Wedontknow were early pulled out due to lameness.
