Cian Collins has certainly made an impact since taking out a training licence last year and is looking forward to sending stablestar Mighty Tom over fences.

The eight-year-old provided Collins with his biggest success to-date in the €45,000 Oyster Tavern Handicap Hurdle at Killarney in May and subsequently ran a cracker when sixth in the Guinness Galway Hurdle before beating all bar favourite Shecouldbeanything when returning to Killarney recently.

"He's been brilliant for us. We are going to freshen him up and give him a little break, and we are going to go chasing with him now this season,” said the County Meath handler.

"He likes good ground, but he won a maiden hurdle on heavy ground (at Galway) at the same time. He seems versatile enough.

"The plan is to have him out in the next six weeks or two months."

Collins has already saddled six winners this National Hunt season amassing over €100,000 in prizemoney.
